INDIANAPOLIS – University of Indianapolis' Angelique McNeal and Saint Joseph's College's Alexis DeJean headline the 2011 Women's Outdoor Track Field All-GLVC Teams. The GLVC has announced a 26-member All-GLVC First Team and 20-member All-GLVC Second Team based on the performances posted at the GLVC Outdoor Track & Field Championships held at Allgood-Bailey Stadium on the campus of Missouri S&T on May 7-8.

Bellarmine placed four athletes on the first team and five on the second team.

McNeal was named the GLVC Women's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year following her performance in Rolla after posting a first-place finish in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash in addition to anchoring UIndy's winning 4x100-meter relay team and running the first leg of the victorious 4x400-meter relay team. McNeal posted a time of 11.81 seconds in the 100-meter dash and 24.51 seconds in the 200-meter dash.

DeJean, who like McNeal also earned a similar honor for the indoor season, was tabbed as the GLVC Women's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year. DeJean won the shot put, hammer throw and discus throw at the outdoor championships. She recorded a mark of 13.91 meters in the shot put, 46.95 meters in the discus and 50.54 meters in the hammer throw.

Lewis' Megan Marchildon was named the GLVC Women's Freshman Athlete of the Year after winning the heptahlon at the GLVC Outdoor Championships. Marchildon, who also was named Co-Freshman of the Year for the indoor season, posted a total of 4,539 in the heptathlon. Her efforts at the meet helped the Flyers place third in the team standings at the meet.

UIndy head coach Scott Fangman guided the Greyhounds to their third consecutive GLVC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships and was selected by his peers as the 2011 GLVC Coach of the Year. The Greyhounds won the outdoor championship with a final tally of 196.33 points.
