INDIANAPOLIS --- Bellarmine University's Elliot Mattingly is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week while the University of Southern Indiana's Dustin Emerick is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men's Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Mattingly, a senior, hit an NCAA Provisional mark in the Hammer with a throw of 56.18m at the Bellarmine Invitational this past weekend, which was a personal best and school record. He finished second to former NCAA DI All-American Andy Fryman. Elliot also won the Discus (46.35m) and finished in third-place in the Shot Put (13.90m). He is currently ranked 2nd in the Hammer and Discus in the GLVC.

Emerick, a junior, competed in the 10,000m at the Mt. SAC Relays this past weekend. He finished in fifth-place overall, finishing with a time of 28:41.62. His time ranks #13 on the 2011 world list and eclipses GLVC Hall of Fame member Elly Rono's school record of 28:53. Emerick leads the NCAA Division II national list.

Southern Indiana will compete again on April 23rd at the Pacesetter Invitational. The Knights will be back in action on April 23rd where they host the Bellarmine University Classic.
