LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The Bellarmine University track and field team hosted the 2011 Bellarmine Invitational at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium on Saturday, April 16 with 18 teams sending representatives to compete.
Facing cold and breezy conditions with occasional rain, the host Knights proved formidable competition, winning 19 of the 38 events.
Two new outdoor school records were established in the difficult conditions.
Bryan Gennett broke his own record in the pole vault, successfully clearing 4.55 meters (14'11”), and
Elliot Mattingly eclipsed his own school mark by slinging the hammer 56.18 meters (184'4”).
