Kentucky high school track and field athletes posted several personal records at meets during the week of April 27.
Macy Wartman (Highlands) won the long jump at the NKAC Division I Championships with a mark of 28-3, improving from her previous personal record of 8-10. The jump ranks #1 in Kentucky among 826 athletes and sets a school record for Highlands.
Hunter Hughes (Harlan County) threw 71-7 to win the shot put at the Williamsburg High School SEKC meet. The sophomore improved from his previous best of 25-4 set in April 2026. Hughes now ranks #1 in Kentucky among 1,262 athletes and #1 among sophomores statewide. The throw establishes a school record for Harlan County.
Byron Rayfield (Holmes) jumped 22-1 for second place at the Boone Co JV Invitational, improving from his previous mark of 17-4.5. The senior ranks #14 in Kentucky among 1,257 athletes and #10 among seniors statewide.
Skylar Hofmann (duPont Manual) ran 12:49.60 in the 3200 meters at the Run for the Roses 3200, placing 14th. The sophomore improved from her previous best of 14:14.15 set in February 2026 and ranks #122 in Kentucky among 410 athletes.
Marley Blanton (Lincoln County) ran 12:47.36 to place seventh in the 3200 meters at the CKC Championship. She improved from her previous mark of 13:18.95 set in April 2026 and ranks #116 in Kentucky among 410 athletes. Blanton also set a personal record in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:56.26, improving from 6:03.55.
Lachin Bakahadir (Greenwood) threw 45-10 for second place in the shot put at the Greenwood All Comers meet, improving from his previous best of 39-5. The sophomore ranks #53 in Kentucky among 1,262 athletes and #6 among sophomores statewide.
Ben Tucker (Ryle) ran 51.34 to place third in the 400 meters at the Scott Eagle Classic, improving from his previous time of 53.52. The sophomore ranks #57 in Kentucky among 2,072 athletes and #13 among sophomores statewide.
