GREENCASTLE, Ind.--The Bellarmine University women's indoor track and field team brought home the team championship at the 2011 DePauw Indoor Classic on Feb. 19.
Coach
Jim Vargo said the Knights were able to top the field in spite of resting a number of athletes for the upcoming Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships, which will be held in Kenosha, Wisc., on Feb. 25-26.
Among the highlights from the DePauw meet was the 4x200 relay team, which shattered the school record by more than three seconds with their time of 1:45.35. The team consisted of
Rachel Eyckmans,
Meghan Jones,
Katherine Mastronicola, and
Elaine Kuntz.
Also setting a new school mark was
Julia Zalewski with a heave of 47 feet, 9.75 inches in the women's weight throw.
