NKU's cross country teams have been recognized for their academic success.
NEW ORLEANS - The Northern Kentucky University men's and women's cross country teams have been recognized for their success in the classroom by earning Division II All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

Steve Kruse's women's team enjoyed one of the most successful seasons in the classroom in the country with a cumulative grade point average of 3.71. It marked the 11th consecutive season the Norse have earned All-Academic honors and the 12th time in program history.
NKU's 3.71 GPA was also the highest among the 16 squads from the Midwest Region to be named to the All-Academic team.
The NKU men's cross country team's selection was the first since the 2007 season and the fifth time in program history. The squad combined for a 3.09 GPA.
Western State (Colo.) garnered the men's Scholar Team of the Year honors while Grand Valley State took the women's crown. A total of 68 men's teams and 107 women's teams were named to the All-Academic team.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better and have compiled a score (finished at least five runners) at their respective NCAA regional championship.
