WVIAC Runners Place High in Louisville

 

In the Men’s Blue Race of the Greater Lousiville Classic, the WVIAC top finisher was the outstanding junior from West Virginia Wesleyan, Barry Franklin.  His smoking time of 25:35 placed him 19th among the 328 finishers in the Blue Race.  Concord junior Robby Peters, probably one of the most improved runners in all of West Virginia over the past 2 years, finished 25th in a huge personal record and school record time of 25:41.  Nate Edwards, and junior from West Virginia Wesleyan placed 32nd in 25:51.  Wheeling Jesuit’s top runner, Dustin Hall finished 40th with a time of 25:59.  Stewart Jones, a sophomore from Wheeling Jesuit was the first WVIAC runner above 26 minutes but with a very quick time of 26:09.  Jones placed a solid 50th.

 

In the Women’s Blue Race, Megan Truelove, a sophomore from Wheeling Jesuit finished in the top ten placing an outstanding 8th of the 287 runners in a time of 18:39.  Danielle Pye of Concord University is having an outstanding senior year.  Her personal record time of 18:43 placed her 11th.  Not far behind Pye was teammate Chelsea Callaway, a sophomore who ran a blazing 18:45 placing her 13th.  Finishing 79th was freshman Michelle Pottratz of Wheeling Jesuit in a time of 19:41.  West Virginia Wesleyan sophomore Christine Azevedo’s time of 19:41 placed her 80th.

 

The top teams from the WVIAC in the Blue Races were both from Wheeling Jesuit.   Their men placed 14th with 402 points.  Their women also placed 14th with 429 points
