Cross Country teams finish 3rd at Queen City Invitational

Men and Women best among non-D1 competitors

WEST CHESTER, Ohio--Bellarmine University's men's and women's cross country teams posted strong third place finishes in the the Queen City Invitational at Voice of America Park today in the season opener for both squads. 

Bellarmine was the top non-Division I finisher on both sides, as only Xavier and Cincinnati bested the Knights in both men's and women's events. 

The Knights got a number of great efforts with the top performances being turned in by Meghan Shagena (Cincinnati, Ohio, St. Ursula Academy), who finished fifth overall with a time of 18:36.0, and Nate Dotterweich (Monticello, Iowa, Monticello), who was eighth overall with a time of 15:31.0. Both men and women ran five kilometers.

Bellarmine returns to action this coming Friday at the 32nd Annual National Catholic Invitationl at Notre Dame.
