LOUISVILLE, Ky.-Bellarmine University and head track & field coach
Jim Vargo have announced seven signees and one transfer for the upcoming track & field season.
The new additions to the team should merge well with what an already strong team. Vargo returns the majority of last year's squad that finished third at the GLVC Championships in the both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Among the new additions for the team are Daisey Legei who is transferring to Bellarmine from the University of Louisville. Legei, a native of Kenya, should add immediate depth to the long distance runners.
Vargo believes that these new athletes give Bellarmine track & field a bright future. “We return nearly everyone off a large '09-'10 roster, adding them to an already very deep returning group, we can't be anything but excited about the coming year as well as the future of the program in general."
