Sixty-three Kentucky Wesleyan College student-athletes in 13 sports received their bachelor degrees on Saturday, May 15, during the school's 142nd annual Commencement.
The 63 represents 35.2 percent of the 2010 179-member graduating class. Overall, 14 student-athletes graduated with honors including four summa cum laudes (3.9 to 4.0 grade point average) and four magna cum laudes (3.7 to 3.8 gpa).
"This marks the second straight year we have had 63 student-athletes graduate," said Gary Gallup, KWC director of athletics.
"The numbers of graduating student-athletes over the past two years indicates that our coaches and athletic staff are committed to the importance of education for the young people in our program,"
