Sprinter of the Week

 

Girls

Kiara Austin – Fort Knox

Austin, a sophomore won the 100m Hurdles with a time of 15.60 at the Lincoln Conference Championship.  Her time currently ranks #1 in Class A.

 

Boys

Jaz Hayes - Central

Hayes, a freshman ran three career best at the Fairdale Invitational.  He won the 100m, 200m, and 400m Dashes.  His time of 10.65 in the 100m currently leads Kentucky.  He ran 22.23 and 50.60 for the 200m and 400m Dashes.

 

Distance Athlete of the Week

Girls

Kayla Hill – duPont Manual

This junior in the middle of a breakout season ran a new career best of 2:18.78 to finish 2nd at the Louisville City Championship. 

 

Boys

Campbell County 3200m Relay

The Campbell County 3200m Relay team rolled running a school record time of 8:02.08.  The foursomes of Robbie Scharold, Alexx Bernard, Ben Rawe, and Doug Strange have the #1 time in Kentucky right now. 

 

 

Field Event Athletes of the Week

 

Girls

Mykal Farris – Ashland Blazer

This sophomore won the Long Jump and Triple Jump at the Area 7 Championship.  Her winning leaps were 16-06.50 and 31-00.50, the Long Jump distance was a personal best for her.

 

Boys

Hunter Bivin – Apollo

This freshman cracked the 50 foot mark for the first time in his young career as he finished second overall in the Shot Put at the Daviess County Invitational with a toss of 50-01.  His older brother Harris was first overall.
