Sprinters of the Week

Girls

Tamyah Pipkin (Tates Creek)

She blazed the track to win the 100m Dash at the Dunbar Invitational Saturday with a time of 12.14.  This career best run for her is top five ALL-time in Kentucky and #1 for 2010.    

 

Boys

Male 4x100m and 4x200m Relays

Chisom Omenyinma, Robbie Graham, John Giddens, and Mitchell Nelson had an all-time kind of day Saturday at the Coach Cooper/Brother Borgia Invitational.  The foursome combined to run all new All-time #1’s in the 400m and 800m Relays with times 41.29 and 1:27.23.

 

Distance Runners of the Week

 

Girls

Ann Eason (Sayre)

This junior set new best times this past week in the 800m and 3200m.  She finished first at the Dunbar Invitational in the 3200m with a time of 11:27.65.  Earlier in the week she won distance trifecta at the Bluegrass Conference Championship setting a new best of 2:27.94 in the 800m along the way. 

Boys

Haile Jemane (Central)

This senior set two new career best times in the 1600m and 800m Runs Saturday at the Coach Cooper/Brother Borgia Invitational.  He ran a best time of 4:30.10 to finish 5th and 1:58.58 for 3rd in the 800m.  He is ranked #1 in the 1600m in Class AA.

 

Field Event Athletes of the Week

 

Girls

Breonna McKee (Scott County)

This senior finished first in the Triple Jump and second in the Long Jump at the Dunbar Invitational and Scott County All-Comers last week.  She set a new personal best in both events with a triple jump of 35-08 and Long Jump of 17-02. 

 

Boys

Tra Tharp (Heath)

He won both the Long Jump and Triple Jump at the Murray-Calloway County Last Chance Meet Monday.  He set a new personal best of 44-05 in the Triple Jump.  His best Long Jump of 22-02 from earlier this season currently leads the state of Kentucky.
