LOUISVILLE, Ky.—Bellarmine University's first track and field meet in more than 45 years was a little soggy, but all-in-all a successful event for the Knights. Despite a two-hour delay in the middle of the competition due to lightning and storms in the area, the meet resumed and only one event (men's 5,000 meters) had to be eliminated due to the weather.

Bellarmine Coach Jim Vargo seemed pleased with the meet and was impressed with many performances but singled out Nora Bowe of the women's team and William Saucer of the men's team for their outstanding meets because they won multiple events.

Bowe won the 100 meter hurdles and the women's high jump and took third in the 400 meter hurdles.  Saucer won both the 100 and 200 meters and anchored the 4 x 100 meter relay team.

As the host school, Bellarmine entered the most athletes and won 23 of the 38 events.
