MSU Throwers In Action At Cedarville

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Morehead State throwers were in action last Saturday afternoon in Cedarville, Ohio at the Cedarville Open at the Yellow Jacket Track and Field Complex.

In men’s shot put MSU’s Josh Alford tossed a personal best 12.09 meters for a 16th place finish in a highly competitive field. Alford also threw 28.14 meters in the hammer throw and 33.46 meters in discus.

Also competing on the men’s side was Michael Wright who finished 25th in the shot put with a hurl of 10.55 meters. Wright also had a throw of 26.36 meters in the discus.

On the women’s side, MSU’s Marybeth Harmon competed in three events. Harmon heaved the shot put 8.40 meters for a 29th place finish and recorded a toss of 25.00 meters in the hammer throw which set the MSU school record. She rounded it out with a discus throw of 23.15 meters.

This coming weekend the Eagles will be back in action, the squad will be splitting up with JT Stone, Ron Duncan and Josh Wakeman going to the University of Cincinnati, and the rest of the team competing at the Centre College Meet.
