KYtrackXC.com Athletes of the Week

 

Instead of the typical one male and female high school awardee each week, KYtrackXC.com is going to expand the awards to a Sprinter, Distance, and Field Event Athlete of the Week for each gender for the rest of the Outdoor Season.

 

Male Sprinter

Dradell Johnson (Owensboro) set the Henderson County track on fire running a personal best time and KY#1’s in the 100m and 200m Dashes.  His winning time in the 100m was a 10.81 and his 200m time was 21.89

Female Sprinter

Cidnei Johnson (Ballard) won the 200m Dash at the Lenny Lyles Invitational with a time of 26.05.  She also placed third in the 100m Dash in 12.91.  Her time in the 200m Dash currently ranks #1 in Kentucky.

 

Male Field Event

Ben Bessler (St. Henry) won the High Jump with a leap of 6-05 at the Ryle Relays.  This mark currently ranks #1 in Kentucky.

Female Field Event

Jackie Stevens (Bullitt East) the 2-time State Champion started off the season with a new best throw in the Shot Put at the Shelby County All-Comers.  She won the Shot Put with a toss of 39-05 and the Discus with a 104-07.  Both are current KY #1 marks.

 

Male Distance

Sean Breeds (Meade County) won the 5000 Meter Run at the Lincoln Relays in a new best time of 16:15.

Female Distance

Cassidy Hale (duPont Manual) won the 3200 Meter Run at the Lenny Lyles Invitational in a new best time of 11:37.54.  She is currently ranked #1 in Kentucky in the 3200m.
