RICHMOND, Ky. - The Eastern Kentucky University track and field team will begin its outdoor season this weekend as most of the squad travels to the North Carolina State Raleigh Relays and freshman
Soufiane Bouchikhi competes in the 5,000 meters at the Stanford Invitational.
The EKU women finished second and the men took third at the OVC Indoor Championships in February.
Sophomore
Diamond Benjamin, the Co-OVC Female Track Athlete of the Year and a two-time indoor champion, will compete at N.C. State this weekend, as will junior Katherine Pagano, an indoor champion in the 5,000 meters, and freshman
DanHeisha Harding, an indoor champion in the 55-meter hurdles.
Bouchikhi was the men's team's only indoor champion this season, and he will run in what is expected to be a very fast 5,000 meters race tonight in Palo Alto.
