Coach Edward Newton Sr., who was a pillar of the track and field community in Louisville, passed away on June 29, 2025.
The Westside Track Club posted the following tribute.
It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that I share the passing of Coach Edward Newton. His life and legacy touched so many on and off the track and the impact he made will never be forgotten. He was more than a coach; he was a mentor, a role model, and a friend to so many.
