COMPLETE OVC TRACK AND FIELD REPORT
BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Eastern Kentucky University sophomore
Diamond Benjamin was named the OVC Female Track Athlete of the Week on Tuesday. Benjamin took first place while running a personal-best and an OVC-best time of 7.03 in the 55 meters on Saturday at the Middle Tennessee State Invitational.
She also improved her 200 meters time from this year by finishing second in that event with a time of 25.30 (third in the OVC).
Benjamin was named the OVC Female Track and Field Freshman of the Year last season after winning the 60 meters at the OVC Indoor Track and Field Championships with a meet-record time of 7.55. She was one of only two athletes to set a new meet record at the indoor championships.

The Colonels have won an OVC weekly honor every week in which they have competed this season.
The EKU track and field team returns to action this weekend. A majority of the squad will compete at the Indiana University Hoosier Hills Open while a handful of runners will travel to the University of Arkansas Tyson Invitational.
