Signing update: Kirkwood duo ink scholarships

As we head closer to the start of the spring track and field season, more student-athletes are inking national letters of intent to compete at the collegiate level.

At Kirkwood High School, Jessie Beaumont and Genesis Dixon signed.

Dixon, a multiple-time all-state athlete, is headed to the Southeastern Conference to compete for Kentucky.

She won the 100-meter hurdles and was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles and long jump at the MSHSAA Class 5 State Championship last spring.


Dixon was third in the 100-meter dash and 300 hurdles and fifth in the long jump during the 2021 MSHSAA Class 5 State Championship.


Beaumont is a 100- and 200-meter runner for the Pioneers, but also did cross country in 2020 and 2021.


She helped the Pioneers to 10th-place Class 5 state finishes in the 4x100 and 4x200 and has signed with NAIA school Taylor University in Upland, Indiana.


Other Signings

- Aubree Jones from Farmington has signed to run at Mineral Area College. She has run every event from the 100-meter to 3,200-meter events and was also a cross-country runner.

- Missouri Southern has signed William Chrisman product Ethan Dias. He's a two-time all-state thrower for the Bears, taking fifth in the javelin in 2021 and fourth last year in the Class 5 MSHSAA Championship. He's won the Class 5 District 7 meet the past two seasons.

- Festus runner Kaylea Holmes is going to the University of Mobile, an NAIA school in Mobile, Alabama. She is a two-time state qualifier in cross country and has run the 800- and 3,200-meter events in track.

- Clayton's Isabel Erdmann will stay close to home and will run cross country at Washington University in St. Louis. The four-time state qualifier in cross country was a two-time all-stater, including 17th at the MSHSAA Class 4 State XC Championships this fall. She was also a state qualifier the past two years in the 800-meter run.

- Warrensburg's Isabella Kulenkamp signed to throw at NAIA school Missouri Valley College . She qualified at the MSHSAA Class 4 State Championship in discus in 2021.
