Cross Country Teams honored with Sportsmanship Award

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –The Bellarmine men's and women's cross country teams, guided by head coach Jim Vargo, each earned the team sportsmanship award in 2009, marking the first time since the awards' inception that the same institution had both of its programs win their respective cross country award.

Bellarmine held the 2009 GLVC Cross Country Championships in Louisville, serving as a gracious and engaged host for the event. In addition, in conjunction with the Bellarmine campus SAAC, the cross country teams helped sponsor a shoe drive at the event in which they collected shoes from each of the participating programs for distribution to local charities.
