HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University cross country teams will compete at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional meet Saturday at Kenosha, Wis.

The women's six-kilometer race begins at 11 a.m., followed by the men's 10-kilometer event at noon.

The NKU women finished third at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championships two weeks ago with a score of 83. NKU runners Jenna Siemer and Jerrica Maddox both placed in the top 15 to earn All-GLVC honors at the E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. Siemer, a senior from Villa Hills, Ky., completed the six-kilometer course in 23:12.07 to place 12th individually and garner All-GLVC accolades for the third straight year.

The NKU men posted a fifth-place finish at the GLVC Championships. Norse junior runner Drew Harris took second-place honors in the individual race with a time of 25:10.69. It marked the second straight year that Harris finished runner-up at the GLVC Championships. Harris, who will be aiming for a berth in the national finals this Saturday, earned All-GLVC honors for his performance two weeks ago.

The NKU men qualified for the national finals two years ago after placing fourth at the regional meet. The Norse also earned a trip to the nationals in 2006.
