The Class 2A meet started right where the Class 1A meet left off with uncertainty in weather and state records falling. You could tell from the opening gun that this day was going to be unique.
Emma Lawrence of Garrard County backed up her incredible season with a Class 2A state record in the long jump at 19' 0" and the triple jump at 40' 0.25". Her long jump record bested a 2012 record by North Oldham's Brianne Brown by 5.5" while her triple jump record was 2' 9" better than Michaela Hunter's 2012 record for Rockcastle County.
