Wyatt Stewart Vaults State Record* at 16' 7

While we are fully aware that state records can only be achieved at the state meet (16' 0"), hence the * in the headline. However, Wyatt Stewart of Madison Central is poised to eclipse that record after his 16' 7" vault at the Madison Central All Comers on May 11, 2021.

Stewart's vault is the highest outdoor vault that has been recorded in the state of Kentucky as far back as 2003 when Chip Heuser (St. Xavier) vaulted 16' 6".

What makes this even more impressive? Wyatt is a SOPHOMORE! Keep a close eye on this young man. He is already breaking records and has two more years left to completely rewrite record books on all levels.

Special thanks to Monte Orchard (his coach) for providing us with the video of this vault and for his dedication to the pole vault community. If you know Monte, you are a better person for having known him!
