Poll: 2020 Class 2A Individuals To Beat

Class 2A Individuals To Beat

The 2020 Cross Country season isn't a sure thing just yet, but that's not stopping us from looking ahead! Plenty of young stars have worked day in and day out to have a shot at the big show at the Kentucky Horse Park for the 2020 State Championships. With the cancellation of the 2020 Outdoor track season, everyone is sure to be hungrier than ever to lay down new PR's and reach new goals.

A new champion will be crowned for the 2A Boys as Ryan Maynard has moved on to college competition at the University of Kentucky. That leaves the door open for Griffin Staude, who was favorite just about all of the 2019 season, to redeem his late struggles at the Horse Park last year. To name a few others who have tremendous promise heading into the year are Sophomore Caden Miracle who took second place as just a Freshman and little known Lane Hoyes who has flown under the radar not winning many big time races, but remained a consistent top 5 finisher including 3rd at state last year.

Girls reigning 2A champion Addi Dewey, who executed an impressive tactical race, will have a target on her back in just about every race she's in this season. Unfortunately, she's one of the only 2A girls in the Louisville area in the conversation for individual champion other than her teammate Kaylee Wilson. Because of that we'll rarely see her toe the line against the talented rosters of Scott and Bourbon County.
