Boys 5th Runners of the Week
Daviess County's Bryson McGary surges to the finish line at Rumble
As I mentioned in the Rumble Preview, there was bound to be a surprise team coming out of the Jungle. Rallying behind Conner O'Shea, the boys of Madison Central were THAT team as they showed everyone they will be a competitive force on the state level. Finishing just 6 points ahead of a historically competitive Daviess County team, Marcus Hutchinson was the key factor to bring the trophy home this weekend.
The team of Conner showed everyone why they're the team favorite this year. At the Bluegrass Cross Country Invite their scoring 5 were spread across just 39 seconds! Their finish wasn't a close one but nonetheless impressive. Ryan Hanak's 17:06 and 18th place finish put the final touch on a great day for the Cougars.
For the third week in a row theres a Daviess County runner on the list (I promise I have no ties to them). This week it's freshman Bryson McGary. McGary was a co- 5th runner of the week along with teammate Caleb Tidwell. This weekend, Daviess County traveled up to Rumble Through the Jungle in Louisville and gathered a plethora of trophies both individually and team wise. McGary came through the line in 32nd place to score important points as they went on to place 2nd in overall team score just 7 points ahead of St. Xavier.
