Female Performer of the Week
Jai Maria Piazza - Mercer County
What do you know, but another 8th grader taking home the Female Performer of the Week? Last week, Ciara O'Shea of Madison Central was the winner and this week Piazza took the title in a close race with Joza Mikulcik of Calloway County. Jai Maria had a stellar week with a state leading 400m time of 59.88 at the Great Gator Invitational. That was preceded by a 1:00.64 at the Boyle County All Comers just 4 days prior.
Up this week for Piazza was the Mercer County All Comers where she was a part of the winning 4x800m and 4x200m relay teams. This weekend she will be at the Randy Elmore PCI Track Classic. She is scheduled for the 400m as well as the 4x200, 4x400, and 4x800. Will she run all of those relays? Maybe. Either way, the KYtrackXC team will have it covered with complete video coverage from the meet.
