WATCH: Corey Wren Blazes US No. 2 10.41 100 At Sugar Bowl

Corey Wren of John Curtis High School moved up to a US #2 ranking in the 100 meter dash with a swift wind legal clocking of 10.41 in the finals of the event at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Classic on Saturday in New Orleans, Louisiana. Wren had opened the meet rolling to a 10.47 performance in the prelims on Friday.

The junior Wren bounced back in a big way after a rare loss last week at the Texas Southern Relays when he finished 3rd in the finals (10.52) against top competition in the Houston area.

Wren is a 3-time Louisiana state indoor champ in the 60 meter dash, but has rarely competed during the outdoor season over his first 3 years of high school likely due to football commitments as a top recruit and talent on the gridiron as well.

This spring seems to be different with Wren more committed to the sport of track with a more active meet schedule and showing himself this weekend at the Sugar Bowl Classic as one of the nation's fastest.
