Kailee Perry of Morgan County Senior Sendoff

Kailee Perry

Morgan County

What was your most memorable meet and why?

My most memorable meet was an indoor meet at Vanderbilt.  I learned to just put my nerves aside and just have fun in a race and you can do anything!

Where did you face your biggest competition?

At Footlocker South Region this year.  I made the decision to run the open race and challenge myself.  I had the opportunity to run with some of the fastest girls in the south.

Out of all of your high school accomplishments which stands out the most and why?

Probably qualifying for New Balance Indoor Nationals.  It took me all season to qualify and was by far the most fun I've ever had!

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

I wouldn't change anything!  I've enjoyed this past 11 years running and it has brought me close to a sport I will forever cherish!

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

This past year I struggled with low iron levels.  Being my senior year it was a major setback, but I stayed positive and it has led me to learn a very valuable lesson.

What will you miss the most?

Being with my team!  I will miss being around them all the time and being so supportive!

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?

Always believe in yourself!  Never let someone tell you that you can't do something and if you believe, you can achieve it!

What are your post-high school or college plans?

I plan on continuing my academic and athletic career at Bowling Green State University in Ohio where I'm going to major in exercise science!

Who would you like to say thank you to?

I first of all would like to thank my parents for taking me all over the country and always supporting me!  Also, I would like to thank my coaches for pushing me to my limit and always bringing out the best in me!  Finally, I'd like to thank my teammates for always being there for me and encouraging me throughout the years!
