KYtrackXC.com Athletes of the Week

In an effort to honor the top track and field performers from Kentucky, KYtrackXC.com will have a weekly set of Athletes of the Week.  There will be Middle School, High School, and College awardees.  Former Kentucky High School Track and Field athletes currently running in college are eligible for the College award, even if he or she attends a school out-of-state. 

 

High School

 

Girls

Nealy Williams - Bryan Station

Williams, a junior at Bryan Station won both hurdle events at the Eastern Relays Saturday.  She ran times of 16.24 and 46.26 to win.  She currently leads the state with a 15.47 in the 100m Hurdles. 

 

Boys

Matt Hillenbrand -St. Xavier

Will Stratford - West Jessamine

Hillenbrand, a junior at St. Xavier and Stratford, a senior at West Jessamine went toe to toe in the opening leg of the Distance Medley Relay at the Eastern Relays Friday night.  Hillenbrand finished his 1200m leg in 3:07 and Stratford 3:08.  Do the math on what they could have ran for the 1600m.

Girls

Alisha Adair - Bondurant Middle School

Adair, an eighth grader is being named the KYtrackXC.com Middle School Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.  Tonight she ran a very impressive triple middle school or high school.  She won the 100m Dash in 12.93, 200m Dash in 26.56 and 400m Dash in 58.56.  Her time in the 400m Dash is a new career best.

 

Boys

Hunter Bivin – Burns Middle School

In his first track meet ever last week at Owenboro High School he threw the Shot Put 43-10 and the Discus 122-11.  This past Monday he bettered his Shot Put mark with a 45-01.  It looks like he will be joining his brother Harris as a top level high school thrower next year.
