Stowers tops own no. 1 60 hurdles national mark, Nelson sets new national 400 mark

Jasmin Stowers topped her no. 1 national 60-meter hurdles mark by one-hundredth of a second at the Kentucky Invitational in Lexington. Stowers sealed the win in 8.43 seconds.

Stowers competed in the meet with club team Quick Striders.

Briana Nelson (Quick Striders/Mann) set a new top national time in her 400-meter dash victory. Nelson finished in 54.34 seconds. The previous top time was 55.33.

Quick Striders teammate Lauren Ellis was second in 56.88 seconds.

Nelson has a database personal best of 53.46, set at 2008 Nike Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro.

Daniel sophomore C.J. Davidson finished first in the triple jump (46-11.5). Davidson competed with club team Carolina Roadrunners.

Greenville junior Sandi Morris (Quick Striders) tied for second in the girls pole vault, clearing 10-6.
