Senior Sendoff: Harrison Owens - Bryan Station

Name: Harrison Owens

School: Bryan Station High School

Most memorable meet:

My most memorable meet was "The Rebellion Cross Country Classic". It was my most memorable meet cause it was the first time I ran under 17 minutes In the 5k.

Biggest competition:

I faced my biggest competition this year up in Ohio at the Ed Leas Fall Classic. I was running against a lot of very good runners from Ohio.

Biggest achievements:

My biggest achievement was placing 6th this year at the Ed Leas Fall Classic. This is my biggest achievement because we had been going to that meet since I was in 7th grade and this was the first year I got on the podium in the high school race.

What would I change:

If I could go back and do it over again I would definitely have pushed myself harder in the early years of high school and maybe that would have translated into faster times my senior season.

Most difficult obstacle:

The most difficult obstacle I had to overcome was a digestive problem that pretty much took me out of racing to my full potential for a whole season.

What will I miss:

will miss my team and coach the most. I have been on the team since 7th grade and they have pretty much become my family over the past few years.

Advice to younger athletes:

My advice to younger athletes is don't take advantage of the time you got to run and run your hardest every race cause next thing you know it will be your last race.

Post-highschool plans:

I plan to run in college but I am undecided on where I'm going to go at the moment. I also plan to Major in Physical Therapy.

Thank you:

I would like to say thank you to my coach Rob Lyon. I have ran with him since I was in 7th grade and he has helped my push myself not only as a runner, but as a person. Also he has never stopped believing in me even when I'm at a low point.
