Madison Peace (Walton Verona): NAIA All-American

The University of the Cumberlands (UC) Indoor Track and Field team wrapped up their indoor season today in Johnson City, Tennessee at East Tennessee State University in the NAIA Indoor National Championships. Although only one Patriot would compete, she would do extremely well as she would become an NAIA All-American.  

Madison Peace (Walton, KY), a junior at UC, would compete in the 800 meter run where she would beat a personal best time as well as make her way to the finals for a shot at a NAIA National Championship. 

BY THE NUMBERS

  • On Friday night, Peace would run in the prelims of the 800m where she would clock a time of 2:17.9, qualifying herself for the finals. 
  • On Saturday, Peace would compete in the finals, earning a 7th place finish with a time of 2:16.93, a new personal best for her.  With the top 8 finish, Peace garners her first career NAIA All-American honor.

UP NEXT

The UC Track and Field teams will now begin their outdoor season where the team will split as one squad will travel to Atlanta, Georgia for the Emory Classic while the other will travel to Raleigh, North Carolina to compete at the Raleigh Relays on the weekend of March 25th - 26th.
