Lovelace commits to University of Louisville

Chapin senior Luke Lovelace has committed to University of Louisville (Ky.), the Eagle said Thursday night in an e-mail to scrunners.com, a MileSplit.us member.

"I have committed to the University of Louisville to run cross country and track," said Lovelace in the e-mail.

Louisville is a NCAA Division I member of the Big East Conference. The men finished ninth at nationals on Nov. 19 in
Terre Haute, Ind.

Lovelace is traveling to Virginia this weekend for the St. Christopher's Mid-Atlantic Clash, where he is competing with two other Foot Locker National qualifiers in the 3200-meter run. Lovelace has the third fastest time going into the event, according to the
performance list on milestat.com.

College signings day is scheduled to begin Feb. 6.
