Former Assumption Runner Ashley El Rady Breaks Centre 3K School Record

The Centre women's track and field team traveled to Ada, Ohio with a partial squad to compete in the Polar Bear Last Chance Meet at Ohio Northern. The meet was not scored, but it was highlighted by a new indoor school record.

Senior Ashley El Rady (Louisville, Ky.) took first place in the 3000m and established a new indoor school record with a time of 10:29.87, breaking the previous record that had been set by teammate Serena Gale-Butto (Muskegon, Mich.) last week at the Fred Wilt Invite in Anderson, Ind.

Other top eight performances for the Colonels came from freshman Amber Cowell (Culver, Ind.) in the 60m hurdles and both senior Emily Akin (Cincinnati, Ohio) and freshman Marisa Moore (Glasgow, Ky.) in the 5k.

The NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held from Mar. 13th-14th in Winston-Salem, N.C.
