As you get older sometimes your memory starts to play tricks on you. I want to say I was a 10th grader, but I could have been a 9th grader at DeSales when the school decided to restart the DeSales Invitational. The first year or two of the meet, it was held at the top of Iroquois Park in the grass area between the loop up there or at least there a loop 20 years ago.
I don't have results from those years but I want to say the first invite was after school and there was a fierce battle between Male and us. Male's Tommy Noel was the winner just going off my memory without proof for sure. (I am checking with Coach Wise on this, ADIHC95 might be of some help as well)
Then the park came up with a plan to let that grassy area grow naturally, meaning the invitational was on the move. This was when the DeSales Invitational landed at its current home at McNeely Lake Park. That worked out much better for me anyways as it was closer to my house than Iroquois Park . The 1994 results from below I have listed at Iroquois Park on the meet page but I am wanting to say that meet was the first year at McNeely Lake Park. DeSales senior Aaron Harbolt won big running a 15:48 that day with Trinity getting the best of us for the team title led by Ben Oschner. (Once again I will check on that one too)
