What was your most memorable meet or race?

Great American CrossCountry Festival my junior year. My team nearly got a perfect score coming in 1-2-3-4-8 in the Blue race bringing home 1st place! And winning in a time of 18:48 (a PR at the time) and breaking the school record for the first time was icing on the cake :)

Out of all your high school accomplishments, which stands out the most?

Being Region 4AAA cross country champion. Schools like Assumption and Sacred Heart continually raise the bar for other  teams and the enormous amount of talent that comes out of these schools pushes me to my limit every day. It was an honor to compete with those girls for 4 years!

If you could do it all over again, is there anything you would change?

Nothing. I enjoyed every minute of my high school running career. My teammates  were some of my best friends and my coaches were so encouraging to me throughout my 4 years at OC. I wouldn't have it any other way.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

In the spring of my senior track season I was told I had mono. In the winter, I raced in my first indoor meet at UK and ran a PR of 5:20 in the mile. I then returned to UK and ran a PR in the 2 mile in a time of 11:23. I was feeling so strong. Once I started to race outdoors I knew something wasn't quite right, but I just thought I was tired. I was so discouraged. Eventually, I went to a sports medicine doctor and he gave me the news. I wasn't able to compete at the state meet, but I am back running again and staying positive!

What will you miss the most?

The annual cross country kick off party at Coach Haseltons house, long bus rides with the team, swim practices, overnight trips, working the ironman - Ill miss it all!

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?

High school goes by so fast!  And before you know it you'll be a senior running your very last high school race, so enjoy every minute of it!

What are your college/career plans?

I will be running track and cross country for Murray State University, and I couldn't be more excited to be a part of Coach Jennys team! Go Racers!

Who would you like to thank?

My mom and dad for coming to every one of my meets and for being my biggest fans!
