The Mason-Dixon Club held the first night of the Mason-Dixon Games tonight at Broadbent Arena in Louisville.
Highlights from the night include a dual between Justin House (Burns) and Austin Carter (North Oldham) in the 800 & 1500. Carter passed House at the line to win the 1500 in 4:39.38. The two battled it out in the 800 this time House took the title in 2:15.47. Ryan Bowling (Owensboro) won the 55m Dash (7.09) and the Long Jump (16-10.75). Owensboro as a team dominated the boys field events taking the top 3 individuals in the Shot Put and Long Jump.
In the girls meet Courtney Drake (Westport) set a meet record in the 55m Dash running a time of 7.34. Kristen Newberry (Notre Dame) showed she was mutli-talented athlete winning the 800m Run (2:37.23) and the Long Jump (14-09.00). Katarina Gimborys (North Hardin) won the 1500m Run in 5:23.13.
