O'Bryan on why she chose UK:

At the beginning of this cross country season Coach Fortney explained to me that I would go on a journey. Along my journey I have learned that God will lead you down paths you don’t necessarily understand at the time and God has blessed me in tremendous ways that I do not deserve. Having the opportunity to experience the college recruiting process is one blessing that I never expected. After touring many universities I have formed bonds with each team that I have met and each team has wonderful individuals that anyone would be honored to call teammates or “Coach.”

I pray and continue to seek God’s will for my future and have decided to run for the University of Kentucky next year because I feel like this is the path where God has directed me. UK is an awesome place to be and boasts an amazing coaching staff, talented teammates, and an unbelievable opportunity for me. Kentucky is close to home which is important because my family and I are very close. I am humbled to call University of Kentucky my future home. I will pursue my education in the field of nursing and Kentucky has an excellent academic program that will help me accomplish my goals.

I am very thankful for my family, friends, team, and community for being supportive of me throughout the past seven years, especially during this process. My journey continues and I am anxious to see what amazing plans God has for me.
