KEITH PRIVE - GREENWOOD COMMITS TO NKU

Personal Bests

5,000 Meter Run 15:44.00

One Mile Run 4:24.74

Greenwood senior Keith Prive has committed to Northern Kentucky University.  He is the 3rd Kentucky distance runner to make this decision this season joining Michael Caldwell & John Michael Griffith.

Prive has finished 10th in the last two running state championships, 10th in November in the Class AAA XC Championship and 10th in the Class AAA 1600m last May.  He is coming off a 5K PR of 15:44 at Foot Locker South.  He continues the great success of Greenwood High School in putting out college bound D1 runners.

Prive on why he chose NKU:

Ultimately, I chose NKU because of the schools potential and room for growth. Academically, they are the fastest growing school in the state, and are consistently becoming a more credible institution. Athletically, I was looking for a program that I was able to develop alongside . NKU has just recently become a D1 school, and its athletic programs have already progressed to a highly competitive level compared to other schools in their division.

I also really connected with NKU's head coach, Coach Kruse, on my official visit. He is the type of guy that you can easily trust, and always keeps the best interest of the athletes in mind. I believe I will have all the tools necessary for success while competing for this institution.

Prive on the college decision:

The college decision making process was difficult, as I was considering many schools to attend. I seriously looked into other schools,  such as Bellarmine and Morehead State, both of which offered very generous scholarship packages. The decision all came down to which school had the greatest combination of academic and athletic opportunities for me to succeed as a student athlete.
