James Quick took the state lead in the 200 with a 21.40! I think he pulled 4 other guys under 22.5 or so. Cody Oldham ran a sub 50 last leg in the 4X400 to secure the win for OC. 800 had I think 5 guys go sub 2:03. Taylor Sanders won the 3200 in 9:36 and Katarina Karas ran 11:22 on the girls side.

I was really happy with the meet overall. A lot of great competition. Trinity also laid down a great 4x100 relay. I should have the results this morning.

Seems like the top boys hurdlers were cursed last night, though. First, we missed the times on BOTH the FAT and hand-timer and had to re-run the fast heat of the 110's, then as the same group was in the blocks to start the 300's, the stadium lights went out! We ended up running the boys 300H and girls 800 in mostly dark conditions. Finally got them to come back on during that exciting boys 800 finish. I think we had 6 boys between 2:00 and 2:02.

When the lights went out right before the hurdles, I kept wondering if BC would have the Oldham Co parents stand by each set of hurdles waving a glow in the dark flag so the hurdlers would know when to jump.

There's something to be said about the Sundown After Dark Party. I heard that the artist formerly known as Matt Girardin made an appearance as well as the devilishly hansom Beau Baker. It really was a who's who of track and field royalty.

I had some parents wanting to pull their cars up to the fence on both ends of the track and put their headlights on so we could keep going. Fortunately, it wasn't necessary! And yes, those were the smooth stylings of Matt "The Voice" Girardin on the PA, while Beau "Where's my free hot dog?" Baker did a bang-up job running the discus!
