September 15, 2012 @ Hardin County Fair Grounds in Elizabethtown, KY

Hosted by Central Hardin

This is a nice name for invitational, sounds very intriguing.

The Varsity Girls race gives you the fastest runner in Kentucky this season so far in 8th grader Gabby Karas.  Last week she had a tighter race week with Maddox Patterson and Caroline Grogan pushing her.  This week she will be able to go more back into cruise mode to win.  Hannah Godfrey and Caroline Haas will make the biggest push, but should still be back possibly a minute.  Each has wins under their belts this season with Godfrey beating Haas head to head at the Raider Twilight Run.  Jillian Shufelt (North Hardin) and Chaley Trail (Grayson County) will also be in the mix.

The Varsity Boys race is led by Will Strickland of Meade County who has made a big jump this year as a senior.  He was runner-up to AAA #1 Patrick Gregory two weeks ago at Shelby County which led to Strickland being ranked #7 in Class AAA.  There is a big group behind him led by Tyler Breeds (North Hardin.)  Breeds is coming off a second place finish at the Purple Strider Invitational last Saturday.  Keith Prive (Greenwood), Mason Dunbar (Barren County), Brandon Igns (North Hardin), Josh Price (Central Hardin), and Jonah Starling (South Warren) will be fight it out for top five.

The team race is highlighted by AAA #5 Meade County along with North Hardin and Greenwood.  North and Greenwood went head to head at the Raider Twilight Run with Greenwood having the advantage.
