Most of you frequently on the discussion board probably know my background already. For those who don’t, I am the parent of two kids who run for Daviess County. I’m also the founder of the club Runawayz, which ran in the off-season from 2007-2010. In this blog, I’d like to share with you how I think you can have a successful postseason experience. I’m sure you’d hear a lot of what I’m going to say from the Derby City coaches.

The lights at the Elizabethtown Sports Park kept playing tricks on Marcus Terrell. One second, the North Hardin junior thought Grayson County sophomore Bret Crawford was right on his tail. Another, Terrell thought Crawford had fallen off the pace. After running neck-and-neck for the first 2 miles Saturday night, Terrell began pulling away from Crawford and won the 69-runner Central Kentucky Run for the Gold in 16 minutes, 35.01 seconds. Crawford finished 5 seconds back in 16:41.72. (via www.thenewsenterprise.com)

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The highly competitive field that boasts 15 nationally ranked teams for the NCAA Division I Pre-National Cross Country meet on Oct. 13, at E.P. ‘Tom’ Sawyer State Park has been set.
This past weekend was strange, there were a ton of meets but nothing was really huge. There were some quality match-ups but even that was hard to decipher as many schools were missing runners. Fall break is part of it, minor injuries, and just simply being tired from all the racing over the last seven weeks. Here are some of the things that stuck out to me from this past week.

In my opinion, the cross country season really isn’t in full swing until the ground crunches under your feet as you walk to your car on your way to the meet.
