The annual Wildcat Classic was held last Saturday at Nutter Fieldhouse on the campus of the University of Kentucky in Lexington.  As the first big indoor track meet of the season it always loaded up with a ton of runner’s sprints and distance alike.  A recap of the action is below:

  CHICAGO (January 23, 2012) — In its 27th year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company, in collaboration with ESPNHS, today announced Jacob Thomson of Holy Cross HS as its 2011-12 Gatorade Kentucky Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year.  Thomson is the first Gatorade Kentucky Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year to be chosen from Holy Cross HS.

The indoor track season should start off with a bang with the annual Wildcat Classic held at Nutter Fieldhouse in Lexington at the University of Kentucky.

Samford senior Michael Seaman was named this week's Men's SoCon Field Athlete of the Week, announced by the conference office Friday.

  The indoor track season should start off with a bang with the annual Wildcat Classic held at Nutter Fieldhouse in Lexington at the University of Kentucky.  The running starts off at 12:00 and will last into the early evening.  This is the ultimate test of where everyone’s fitness level is in the middle of January as they start training for the Kentucky State Track Meets in mid-May.

The University of Memphis track and field teams completed their second meet of the indoor season Friday with strong finishes at the Blazer Invitational. Both the men and women's squads set personal bests and found top spots in the event standings.

The following will be added to the KTCCCA Hall of Fame on Saturday, January 7th in Lexington.
