Below is the Top 12 Moments/Races of 2012. This past year was quite arguably the greatest year in XC/Track history for the state. Records were set across the board in track and XC. KYtrackXC.com has sorted through some of the moments/races that really set the state on fire in a sense in 2012.
#11 2 Sub 15's KYtrackXC.com 5K Showdown
KYtrackXC.com and Christian Academy of Louisville hooked up to put on the fastest high school race in Kentucky high school 5K history. Holy Cross Junior Jacob Thomson led the pace crossing the line in a then NATIONAL LEADING TIME of 14:49 to win. Butler's Patrick Gregory came across for a 14:57 which stood as the fastest time for the sophomore class in the NATION. The top two alone make it the fastest 5K in Kentucky history surpassing the Trinity Invitational in 1980 (Joe Buechler 14:52, Jim Murphy 14:58, Jim Spienza 14:59.) Seven runners in total ran under 15:51 last March.
