The KHSAA has announced the 2006 State Track Meet will be held at Paul Dunbar High School in Lexington rather than the University of Kentucky. The move is being made because of a scheduled NCAA Baseball Regional that will be played at the University of Kentucky\'s Baseball Field.
The distance of parking at the State Track Meet is already problematic. It would be outrageous with the added fans for the baseball games. Additionally, the track uses the same concession stand as the baseball field.
I commend the KHSAA for this move as the track facilities at Paul Dunbar are one of the best in the state. The KTCCCA already hosts the Middle School State Championship at Paul Dunbar so this school has experience in handling large meets.
