    James, fixed up for you.

    Something seems to be missing from this, aside from the 10,000s, race walks and marathons this doesn't show finals for any events? Maybe some of these are really finals?

    @CoachMark

    Here is the full schedule. www.usatf.org/Events-/-Calendar/2012/Olympic-Games....

    Here is the IAAF link which may have more detail, start lists and get results up faster than USATF www.iaaf.org/mini/oly12/Results/ResultsByDate.aspx
    This link is usually about as quick as we get results up on the UL scoreboard.

    The TV schedule is just that, when they are showing something on NBC. Prime time stuff gets delayed until prime time even though it was completed four hours before.

    As to the reference to water polo in another thread, I think water polo is one of those non-contact sports like soccer and basketball, despite the wardrobe malfunction on live TV today.

    I hope there are a couple of finals that they will show live, but no guarantee.

    @official

    Thanks, I was hoping that they would dedicate some time to finals but I guess they will get rolled into the rest of the prime time coverage. I would assume they will show almost all finals where an American makes it and none where there is no American.

    I loved every minute of it. A great meet for the USA. Even in the events we didn't win we were competitive. Thought we might be able to pull off the mens 4X1 with the 3-4-5 runners in the 100 but a couple exchanges were a little slow and no one is going to stay with Bolt head to head at the end. Great effort though. Watched Rupps 5K on the replay a couple times, just an unfortunate tactical race in my opinion. He we too worried about staying on the inside and you can see him adjusting his stride a half dozen times during the race when he would get pinched off or run up on a runner that was slowing. By the 2nd to the last lap he had to give his sprint to get back up the front. HE just didn't have enough in the tank at the end but still a Silver in the 10K and a good performance in the 5K for such a young guy is not a bad day.

    @cbeckerson

    While I was not blown away by the coverage I was very pleased with the performances in T&F, especially the distance crew. I can remember just a few years back we were struggling to get three athletes to meet the A standard in most distance events. This time we got several medals but I think we put at least one in every single final from 800 on up, both men's and women's! Not only did we have one in each final but even in the races where they didn't medal our athletes were competitive. About the weakest I can think of was the women's marathon and even then we put all three women in the top 15. Huge strides, good job!

    I like Ato Bolden and think Craig Masback is ok, but otherwise NBC's TV coverage is definitely lacking. By contrast, I thought the British guys on the webcast were great. When they're not providing background info on one athlete, they're analyzing what athletes do and explaining why a jumper or thrower came up short in their last attempt. They also do at least some of the Diamond League contests, so I'd check on those and see if you can get them - just to hear these guys at some point.

    @professor

    Did anyone catch the brief scene that they played last night of the BBC booth during the last lap of the men's 10,000? Too bad we don't have any commentators like that, jumping and screaming as Mo Farah ran the last 100, priceless!

    Along that vein I got emails from several families I have coached, each saying independently that they were screaming and yelling at the TV during that 10,000. One family in MN is normally so quiet that when that happened the neighbors called the cops!

    I wasn't pleased with the coverage either but i was pleased with our results. Very limited coverage of the field events. But yet we got full coverage of every dive for many rounds of diving. I think they need a swimming - track channel next time like they had for basketball and soccer. Swimming is mostly in the first week and track is mostly in the second week. That would be a good combo for a separate channel.

    And as loud as I got during the mens 10k, I was completely silent after Morgan Uceny went down in the women's 1500. I've never felt so disappointed for an athlete.
