Do you have the results for the Girls and Boys MS Open Race? Someone was standing in front of the timer at the finish line.

I was not sent results for those races. I can check on them.
@
jonathan Thanks for checking on those results and getting the correction posted for the Middle School Girls and Boys 4K Open Race.
Did Burns Middle School or Burns Elementary School win the girls 6th grade & under state championship?

Looks like a combination of the two, likely they train and race as one team. They had three 6th graders and four 5th and down. Burns Elementary is k-5 so they had to use kids from both schools.
Interesting. So it looks like the traditional elementary schools that are K-5 are penalized when it comes to the team portion of the 6th & under race (unless they're fortunate enough to have a Middle School with the same name). It appears as though the parochial schools can field a single team with 6th & under runners if they are K-8th. It just seems strange to combine two different schools into one team. I guess when its a 6th an under race you get multiple team structures.

Yes, the problem you get is that some schools in KY are K-5, some K-6, some K-8 and a few are even K-12! KTCCCA had to pick some break points to separate races. Can't say they are perfect just the best they could come up with. There may not be a good solution until they go to regional qualifying and that adds a whole new set of problems, look at the HS system!

It is tough and there is not a easy answer. My sons public elementary school in Graves County (far Western KY) is K-6.

@texasfanforlife4
Why are the times posted Saturday (above times) so different than the times posted on the race results on this site? There was about 3-4 seconds between 2nd and 3rd place finishers and about 5-6 seconds between 3rd and 4th place finishers;the results on here have it less than a second, so I do not know how the results posted can be correct? I only looked at the top couple of times and was wondering if others saw a significant difference in other place times as well

The only thing that comes to mind is that Frank's origional email stated that it took him extra time as he was merging the results from both chip readers. I'm sure the initial results at the meet didn't include both reads. Maybe the initial results included an accidental double read that he had to go back and correct, that would have shifted all the times?

@CoachMark
But the times can not be correct, because there was a 20 meter difference between 2nd and 3rd place and probably 30 or more meters between 3rd and 4th, with only hundreds of seconds difference in the times. I do not think it is possible to run 20-30 meters in 00:00.30 seconds.

I can't say, I never go to the finish at races so I don't see how they finish. Sounds like maybe some bad reads got mixed in with the good?

Hey, sorry for the delay of my reply first.
So, I am not too positive for exactly which races your concerns are with. For all the high school race I got my own times and notes from them, but for the middle school and elementary races I just got the results as they happened. These pictures and results are the lapsed times, i.e. listed in the pictures are the start time and end time (both of the day i believe) and then gun-lapsed or chip-lapsed is their actual finish time.
Frank, the meet director helped explain this to me. Specifically I am not sure for the exact race you are referencing but there is always the chance for error in the timing system as we had to police the area around the finish as many athletes brought back into the stadium their chips and set off the timing system.
If you have any further queries into the results and placing feel free to email me with a more specific question and I can try my best to help resolve your concerns.
