Varsity Boys – Nicholas Waltman (Sayre)

Waltman, a sophomore at Sayre won the Small School Race at the Lexington Catholic Invitational with a 16:31.86.  His time was good enough to win by 22 seconds.  This was the first win in an invitational for this up and coming sophomore this season. 

 

Varsity Girls – Gabriella Karas (Martha Layne Collins)

Karas, a 7th grader competing for Martha Layne Collins set the course on fire Saturday evening at the South Oldham Dragon Invitational.  She ran an 18:01.65 which is impressive by itself, but even more was the fact that she won by 47 seconds over her sister, Kentucky State Record Holder Caterina Karas.  She beat most of the loaded Class AA field by over one minute.    

 

Middle School Boys – Cameron Sanders (Ashland Blazer)

Sanders, a 7th grader competing for Ashland Blazer was 2nd at the Lexington Catholic Invitational Middle Schools Boys Race with a time of 14:39.69.  This was a new best time for him by four seconds.

 

Middle School Girls – Brittney Hansen (Bowling Green)

Hansen, an 8th grader at Bowling Green won the Sky Conference Middle School Championship on Saturday.  In her first middle school action of the season she ran the 4000 Meter course in a new best time of 16:16.31.
