ROLLA, Mo.--The two-day Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships kicked off Saturday (May 7) at Missouri S&T. The Bellarmine men's team captured two of five finals on Day 1, and the women's day was highlighed by
Julia Zalewski's runner-up finish in the javelin, and
Nora Bowe's fastest qualifying time in the 100 hurdles.
Highlights from Day 1:
- Men's team in second place after first day

Elliot Mattingly wins javelin and scores in second of his four throwing events - second day offers opportunity in his two better events (Hammer & Discus)

Damar Williams qualifies for finals in 100 and 200, running a personal best and the meet's second best qualifying mark in 100 meters (only 1/100th behind leader)
