Men's cross country checks in at No. 25 in the polls

Ranked No. 4 in Midwest region

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—After a strong start to the season the Bellarmine University men's cross country team has cracked the national rankings. In the first polls to come out since competition has begun, the Knights check in at No. 25 in the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll.

The Knights started out the season by taking 3rd place in the Queen City Invitational followed by getting 1st place in the National Catholic Cross Country Invitational. Bellarmine is being led by Nate Dotterweich (Monticello, Iowa, Monticello), Jordan Parayil (West Chester, Ohio, Lakota West), and Justin Smith (Lexington, Ky., Paul Dunbar).

Adams State is in the top spot of the polls followed by Western State, Colorado Mines, and Grand Valley State. Other Great Lakes Valley Conference teams are Southern Indiana at No. 9 and Drury at No. 24.

In the Midwest Regional Rankings, Bellarmine is No. 4 behind Grand Valley, Southern Indiana and Drury. The top 8 teams in the Midwest Region will advance to the regional championships on Nov. 20 at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park, and from there the top 4 teams will advance to the NCAA Championships, also held at E.P. Tom Sawyer. The cross country national championship will be a part of the NCAA Fall Festival that Bellarmine is hosting from Nov. 30- Dec. 4.
